The Annual Shop Safety Lunch and Awards for calendar year 2001 were held at the Gary and St. Cloud shops during the week of February 18. Awards were presented for accident free work records on both an individual and team level.

The Shop Safety Award Program promotes safe working conditions by encouraging each employee to work safely and responsibly himself, while being aware of safe working conditions and safe work habits of co-workers.

Monthly shop inspections are conducted to identify needed repairs. Any unsafe working conditions are reported as needed on a daily basis.

This year the ATS West shop had a perfect safety record and the Gary Indiana shop had only one accident.

Driver Meeting Held in Gary Indiana.

About 40 drivers from ATS, Inc. and ATS Specialized attended the ATS driver meeting in Building 3 at Gary, Indiana, on February 16. Representatives of various ATS departments including the operating divisions, maintenance and safety also attended. A breakfast buffet was served prior to the meeting. Some of the topics covered were change of duty status on roadside inspections, crash prevention, T-check card access to ATS West and proactive preventative maintenance.

The next driver meeting will be held in Gary, Indiana, sometime in April. Watch your qualcomms and bulletin boards for more details.
