Schnables for Wind Tower Transportation a FIRST for ATS
The first Schnable Dolly System Trailers in North America for Wind Tower transportation are in use. ATS built its business being an innovator and expanding equipment to meet the needs of its customers.

ATS has been moving tower assemblies for multiple wind energy companies throughout the United States. ATS’s emergence as one of the premier wind energy transportation solutions prompted the design of these unique trailers.

The trailer design was brought about by ATS’s desire to move the large tower section which can be 15’ High x 65’ Long and weigh over 90,000 lbs. more efficiently and safely. Three different models 9, 10 and 13 axle in 2 different profiles and configurations have been designed and purchased by ATS, with the help of Trail King Industries. These trailers have been delivered and were first used under load for GE Wind Energy, whose wind towers are being built by DMI out of Fargo, ND. and were transported to the Wind Farm at Lamar, Colorado.

The Schnable Dolly Systems have an engine on the "jeep" and on the trailer neck, which allows the tower section to be raised or lowered from 1" to 16" ground clearance. The Schnable necks can be removed and a flat floor can be inserted, so the trailers can be used for other commodities. "This is in keeping with our business philosophy of having multi-function equipment available to meet the changing needs of our customers" stated Rollie Anderson, President of ATS.
