Card Access at ATS Terminals
Card readers have been installed on terminal gates in Jacksonville, FL, Newnan, GA and Manitowoc, WI, as well as at ATS West in St. Cloud. Card access to these facilities will provide ATS personnel 24-hour access, while supplying security for drivers, equipment and loads in those yards.
In order to access these terminals and drivers rooms, ATS drivers will need to “swipe” their T-Chek (fuel) cards through the card reader. An alternative method is to enter a sequence of numbers on the keypad. That sequence is # followed by the last 7 digits on the T-Chek card, followed by the * key. (#XXXXXXX*) Signs with instructions have been posted at these facilities.
Similar access control devices will be installed at Gary, IN, Fontana, CA and Laredo, TX, over the next several months. Please watch for these additions. The above procedures will apply at all additional locations.

New Log Forms
Drivers picking up a new ATS logbook will notice a slight change on each page. The bottom portion of the log is now an 8-Day Recap, which allows drivers to calculate the hours they have available to drive on their 8th day of driving.
Before starting to drive each day, drivers should enter the hours for the last seven days of driving into blocks 1 through 7 in the recap. The hours for the last seven days should then be totaled and subtracted from 70 hours, to calculate what hours are available to drive that day. These recaps should remain attached to the log and be submitted with the driver paperwork for settlement.
Drivers with questions regarding the use of this recap should contact their Fleet Manager or the Safety Department.

Don VanErt joins the 3,000,000 Mile Club
Move over Joe Stan Hicks and make room for Don VanErt in the 3,000,000 Mile Club. Rollie Anderson and VP Gary Stang honored Don Van Ert a driver for ATS Specialized for his incredible achievement of 3,000,000 Safe Miles by becoming the second driver for ATS to reach this tremendous milestone.
ATS drivers receive awards for years of safe driving. To put this in perspective, it takes approximately 9-10 years to run a million miles. Now imagine driving anything (let alone an 80,000 lb truck) for 10 years without having any kind of traffic violation. NOW triple that and you have what it takes to do what these two drivers have done.
"Don's achievment of three million miles is absolutely outstanding. We are extremely proud of Don's accomplishment!" said ATS President Rollie Anderson, pictured here with Don VanErt.
