Special Edition Update
September 11th will live in our memories for a long time. As we reported in our Special Edition, one of our drivers was stuck in the calamity that followed the bombing of the World Trade Center, and that its driver Pete Smith was fine.
The lady who took him in Janice M. of Jersey City, NJ was thanked by ATS. She was very thankful and grateful for our thoughtful consideration. She wrote:
"I would like to thank you for the check and jacket you sent me on September 18th. I did not expect any remuneration for my helping Pete. It just seemed that when things are really evil it is important to be extra good to try to level out the evil. I was glad to help him in what was a really painful time for him.”
"The tragedy of the World Trade Center has affected everyone here so personally. As a resident of New Jersey, on the left bank of the Hudson, we live with the visual and very intimate tragedy. We are still going to memorials, and living with trying to rebuild our lives with loved ones suddenly missing. I know no one here who has not lost a friend or relative in the disaster. Now as we try to get on with our lives we are continually reminded by the government that we remain a target for the mad men."
"Pete was so happy when he heard that he was getting a new truck, I hope that all went well with the transfer, and that you got your other truck back. In the meantime I continue to read the truck names while I am driving, thinking that someday I might see an ATS truck and know that I have some friends in Minnesota."
Sincerely
Janice M.
From all of us at ATS… Thank you Janice.
