Multi-Factor Authentication is Coming to FreightMatch: What to Know

The ATS FreightMatch team is pleased to share that ATS FreightMatch will soon be implementing multi-factor authentication (MFA) for all users.

Multi-factor authentication is a security process that requires app users to provide two or more types of identification before they can access an account or system. By requiring the use of at least two different "factors," MFA makes it much harder for someone else to access your account, even if they manage to steal one piece of information, like your password.

From the very beginning, the FreightMatch team has worked hard to provide the best possible experience to our valued users. Creating that  outstanding user experience comes down to more than just functionality: Security matters, both to us and to you.

By implementing MFA, we are re-affirming our continual commitment to making ATS FreightMatch a safe, secure place to find and book great freight. We understand that hauling freight is your livelihood, and we're dedicated to doing our part to protect you while you use our app.

MFA is just one piece of our robust security measures, but it's an important one - and it requires you to take part. Luckily, setting up MFA in your ATS FreightMatch app is simple.

Here's what to expect from the process:

  • This update will be rolled out gradually over the end of May and throughout the month of June.
  • You will be prompted to use MFA if you have been inactive for 30 days or more, or if you log out of the app.
  • It will require you to verify your identity using a minimum of two methods, significantly reducing the risk of unauthorized access to your account. You will be prompted to provide these methods during the MFA update process; please do so immediately to ensure your continued access to your account.
  • If you have forgotten your password, you will receive two MFA codes during the password reset flow. We recognize that it is confusing to receive two codes, however, we can assure you that it is a normal part of the password rest flow and is not a sign of any malfunction.

Again, we have chosen to implement multi-factor authentication for your safety and security in-app. With this update, we will be able to provide the increased level of protection and peace of mind you deserve.

We thank you for continuing to use ATS FreightMatch as your load board of choice, and hope you will continue to enjoy everything ATS FreightMatch has to offer.

If you have any questions or concerns about multi-factor authentication, or if you have any issues following the prompts to set up multi-factor authentication for your account, please contact the FreightMatch team.
